James Anderson to train with Man City in bid to resurrect career after Ashes injury nightmare
JIMMY ANDERSON will be training at Manchester City for the next two months in a bid to resurrect his career.
There were fears for the England fast bowler’s future when he missed the majority of this summer’s Ashes series with a calf injury.
Anderson, 37, has not played since pulling up after just four overs against Australia in the first test at Edgbaston.
And City have allowed the country’s leading Test wicket-taker to train their Etihad campus to make use of their state-of-the-art facilities and medical staff.
Anderson has been ruled out for England’s two test tour of New Zealand, which begins on October 20.
But he hopes to be up and running when England head to South Africa in mid-December for a four-test tour.

Anderson is adamant he has no plans to retire and instead wants to emulate Manchester United legend Ryan Giggs by playing until he is 40.
And his work at City will be overseen over the next two months by England’s head of strength and conditioning Rob Ahmun.
Last year, Burnley fan Anderson trained with the Clarets after being invited by manager Sean Dyche.
