Alameda’s inaugural Harvest Celebration with Almanac Beer, local food trucks
The island of Alameda has become a hub for craft breweries, distilleries and wineries, and fun restaurants, bakeries and food purveyors of all kinds. Now it’s getting a harvest festival, too. The inaugural Alameda Harvest Celebration, hosted by Almanac Beer Co. and Admiral Maltings, will feature artisanal foods and beverages from more than a dozen Alameda-based companies.
This weekend-long celebration runs from noon to 9 p.m. Oct. 26-27. Admission is free; food and drinks are pay-as-you-go. The fun will unfold in the area around Almanac and Admiral Maltings at 651 W. Tower Ave., on the grounds of the former Alameda Naval Air Station. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the non-profit Alameda Point Collaborative in its efforts to provide supportive housing for homeless and needy families.
