Monster dad battered three week-old baby son to death for having a ‘bad attitude’
A MONSTER dad battered his three-week-old baby to death over his “bad attitude”.
Erik Sherman, 34, left baby Emmett with a torn lip, black eyes, cuts to his face and a fractured collar bone.
The brute had screamed at the tragic tot before murdering him – telling him he “didn’t like his attitude”.
Emmett’s mum told cops Sherman had also yelled “[I don’t] care how old he is. He needs to stop crying” during a 45-minute rant at the baby.
On August 5 last year, she woke up to discover her son’s mouth bleeding so badly he was unable to eat.
She took the baby to hospital two days later after he stopped breathing but he passed away on August 10 of a severe brain injury.
One of the doctors who treated the baby later said it was the worst case of child abuse he has come across in 23 years of practicing medicine.
Sherman is now facing up to 26 years in prison after admitting homicide by abuse at a court in Washington, USA.
HORRIFIC ABUSE
The court was told Sherman tried claiming at first he was looking after Emmett when the baby suddenly rocked his head and struck his mouth on his shoulder.
Emmett’s mum discovered the tot bleeding from his mouth in the bathroom – but the couple Googled his symptoms instead of taking him to hospital.
In chilling text messages between the parents, Sherman told the baby’s mum he just needed food and “a warm rag on his head”.
It was only when Emmett stopped breathing while being fed that he was finally taken to hospital.
Medics battled to save him but the baby was taken off life support and died from a subdural hemorrhage of the brain caused by a blunt impact.

Sherman told cops he didn’t know how his son had sustained his injuries but he later admitted battering the boy.
The baby’s mother, who was not named, was not charged with any crime.
Under a plea deal, Sherman will be sentenced on November 15 to no more than 26 years behind bars.
