Spurs boss Pochettino has ‘reached end of the road’ agree Cole and Jenas after 3-0 thumping to Brighton
MAURICIO POCHETTINO has “reached the end of the road” following Tottenham’s 3-0 thumping to Brighton, according to Joe Cole and Jermaine Jenas.
The Argentine was already feeling the pressure after being hammered 7-2 at home by Bayern Munich on Tuesday.
Lowly Brighton then compounded Poch’s misery after capitalising on Hugo Lloris’ horror injury to claim a three-goal drubbing and their first win of the season.
And speaking immediately after the final whistle, both former Tottenham midfielder Jenas and ex-Chelsea star Cole gave their verdicts on the manager’s future in north London.
Cole told BT Sport: “The club is in disarray. Tottenham were dreadful with no desire, no heart, nothing. There was no press.
“Pochettino looked uninterested on the bench, I think we’re getting to the point where it’s the end of the road for this team and this manager.
“As a group, they have fallen apart and something is going to have to change.”

The defeat to Brighton meant Spurs have now lost SEVENTEEN matches in 2019 – more than any other Premier League club, including the Seagulls.
And Jenas added: “I’ve been at that football when there have been changes. I love Mauricio and I hope he stays but it stinks of that type of moment. Things seem very stale.
“He’s been at the club for a number of years, I feel like the club have let him down and the players are not applying themselves.
“Something needs to change, hopefully it’s the players’ mentality rather than the manager.”
Neal Maupay’s third-minute tap-in followed by a brace from talented teenager Aaron Connolly has left Spurs rooted in seventh on 11 points.
They now also face a spell without club captain Lloris after the keeper was stretchered off the pitch and Poch provided an update on the Frenchman after the match.

The Tottenham manager said: “I think the news is not good. We have to wait, they are going to explain the real situation.
“Everyone saw on the pitch when he landed that it wasn’t a good situation.”
“Of course [Lloris’ injury] affected the players . We cannot take the credit from Brighton, but the team suffered a massive impact from that action.”
