A light heavyweight bout between Phil Davis and Karl Albrektsson is the latest addition to this month’s Bellator 231 lineup.
MMA Junkie today confirmed with Bellator officials that Davis (20-5 MMA, 7-2 BMMA) vs. Albrektsson (9-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) will serve as the co-main event of the card.
Bellator 231 takes place Oct. 25 at Mohegan Sun Arena in Uncasville, Conn. The main card airs on Paramount following prelims streamed on MMA Junkie.
Davis, 35, will continue his quest back to the Bellator title he lost to Ryan Bader in June 2017. “Mr. Wonderful” is 3-1 since dropping the belt, with his most recent win coming at Bellator 220 in April when he stopped Liam McGeary by TKO.
The former champ will serve as a stern test for Albrektsson, 26, who makes his promotional debut with Bellator after competing five times under the Rizin FF banner in Japan over the past three years. The Swede is currently riding a three-fight winning streak.
The latest Bellator 231 card now includes:
MAIN CARD (Paramount, DAZN, 9 p.m. ET)
PRELIMINARY CARD (MMA Junkie, 6:45 p.m. ET)
