THE Apprentice made its highly anticipated return to BBC One with its 15th series, as 16 contestants tried their best to impress Lord Sugar.
Candidates were tasked with the challenge of setting up their own bespoke tours in South Africa, but which team won and who ended up leaving the show?
Shahin Hassan became the first person to be eliminated from the 15th series of The Apprentice.
His team immensely struggled to generate sales for their bespoke tour, which consisted of a cheap-and-cheerful safari in Cape Town.
The boys also made several promises to potential customers, claiming that they would take them on a tour that would include the big five.
The big five comprises of seeing a number of animals, ranging from lions, leopards, rhinos, elephants and Cape buffalos – yet only three of those were seen during the safari trip.
Their total resulted in a measly £476.19 despite not having had any refunds from customers, showing clear signs that their preparation for the task was all over the place.
Meanwhile, ticket and wine earnings for the girls amounted to £520.93 – even after the reduction of refunds – despite not having been fully honest with what they were offering on their high-end vineyard tour.
And after Lord Sugar treated the girls to a fabulous rental home and plenty of champagne, the boys prepared for the first elimination showdown – and all bets were off.
“Shahin, you didn’t sell. It’s as simple as that,” Alan Sugar said.
“We lost the task on sales, so it is with regret, Shahin, that you’re fired.”
Following Shahin’s departure, Alan address Lewis’ unacceptable behaviour throughout the challenge, which saw him not only lose his cool but also appear aggressive with his tone.
Several of his team members pointed out the same thing, to which the 72-year-old said: “You burst out like that in front of me or anybody else, you’ll be out that door.
“Just calm yourself down and be professional, okay?”
Lewis seemed regretful over his actions and apologies in the boardroom.
The 15th series of The Apprentice will continue every Wednesday, with episode two scheduled to air on October 9.
The Apprentice will air on the channel for approximately 12 weeks and is followed by You’re Fired at 10pm on BBC Two.
Each episode of the main show will be available to watch on-demand on BBC iPlayer and catch-up channels.
The competition series sees sixteen eager entrepreneurs compete against one another to become Lord Sugar’s next business partner.
