Pippa Middleton takes 11-month-old son to baby gym to learn ‘physical skills’

Pippa Middleton is getting her 11-month-old son interested in fitness already.

The Duchess of Cambridge’s younger sister, 36, has revealed she regularly takes Arthur to a ‘baby gym’, where he ‘burns energy’ and develops physical skills.

She wrote in her Waitrose Weekend fitness column that the activity centre also helps to ‘promote movement, balance and strength’ in the youngster.

Pippa said: ‘Now that Arthur is 11 months old and more mobile, I have been trying to come up with different activities to do with him.

‘I needed to find something more than just park walks in the pram. Our local baby gym has been a saving grace.’

Baby gyms are typically made up of soft objects, balls, play-mats, stairs, swings and mini-trampolines, which young children can then explore.

Pippa wrote that the sessions also involve a lot of ‘free play’ to ‘stimulate and physically engage babies and toddlers’.

She continued: ‘Arthur burns lots of energy in this safe environment and learns many physical skills. I have also noticed him building his confidence with each visit.’

Pippa is heavily into fitness and previously revealed in her Waitrose column that she works out four to five times a week.

The lifestyle writer has often been spotted running in London with Arthur in his pram, while also walking her two dogs.

She wed husband James Matthews in May 2017, and the pair welcomed their son together in October last year.

Pippa said Arthur is also very keen on swimming and had his first lesson at four months old.
