TONIGHT
The Stockton Heat play host to the Bakersfield Condors, looking to avenge Friday night’s setback on the road at Mechanics Bank Arena. It figures to be a different-looking lineup for Stockton as compared to the previous meeting between the clubs, the Heat receiving 10 players from Calgary prior to Friday’s game – only two of whom dressed for Stockton in the contest.
TAMBELLINI TALLIES TWO
Adam Tambellini figured into two of three scores for Stockton on Friday, lighting the lamp and adding an assist in the road contest. The forward joined the Heat for a training camp tryout, previously lacing up his skates for the Belleville Senators in the 2018-19 campaign.
POTENT POWER PLAY
The Heat made hay on the man-advantage in Friday’s game, going 3-for-8 on the power play. Goals came from Zac Leslie, Luke Philp and Tambellini – a trio of new names in Stockton – on the night.
THERE’S NO PLACE LIKE STOCKTON ARENA
Sunday’s exhibition contest will be Heat fans’ first opportunity to watch Stockton hit the ice since April 14, last season’s finale which was was also against the Condors. Stockton went 15-16-2-1 on home ice a year ago.
CHUCKING KNUCKS
The Heat and Condors wasted no time re-igniting their rivalry in Friday’s game, Stockton taking three fighting majors and Bakersfield getting charged with four. Alex Gallant and Anthony Peluso threw down twice on the night within a span of just 6:50 of game time.
ONE LAST TUNE-UP
Sunday’s showdown is the final exhibition contest for Stockton before starting the regular season on Friday, Oct. 4 at Colorado. Bakersfield will open its campaign on Friday against the San Diego Gulls at home.
