Woman in her 40s stabbed to death at home ‘by a relative’ in Lawless London
A WOMAN has been stabbed to death in her home in Enfield, north London.
The victim, in her 40s, was found seriously injured and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in custody.
There have been over 100 violent killings in London this year, with many using knives to commit the crime.
In a statement, the Metropolitan Police said: “A murder investigation has been launched in Enfield after a woman was fatally attacked at a residential address.
“Police were called at 7.23pm on Saturday, September 28, to a seriously injured woman at an address on Tennyson Close in Enfield.
“Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found a woman in her 40s suffering stab injuries.
“She was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.”
The suspect, 28, remains in custody.
No-one else is being sought in relation to the murder, police said.
The Met said the woman’s next of kin have been informed.
A post-mortem examination and formal identification will take place in due course.
