After a solid day one performance coming from the Bryan College women's golf team, they were sitting in second trailing leader Midway University by only 2 strokes on the challenging Jack Nicklaus Cumberland Bear Trace Course. The 5845 yard layout, with firm fast greens and narrow fairways, presented quite a challenge on day 1 with only one player able to break 80. On day two, the pins were tucked even more difficultly leading to most scores going even higher. For the opening round it was senior, Emily Hutson (SR/Oneida, Tenn.), who provided the leadership firing a career best 81 to keep Bryan College within 2 strokes of the leader, Midway University. The second day was led by junior, Taylor Williams (JR/Lincolnton, N.C.), who came up with the best round of the day shooting 81. However, it was freshman Alisa Marie Caraballo (FR) who had the best overall score for two days firing a 164 to lead the Lions to their first tournament victory as a team. Caraballo finished 2nd overall as an individual to medalist, Kayla Meredith of Midway and four strokes ahead of third place finishers, Susan Stell of Faulkner University and Taylor Williams of Bryan College. In taking their first tournament title, the Lady Lions placed 4 players in the top 20: Alisa Caraballo, Taylor Williams, Daniella Banda (SR/Harare, Zimbabwe), and Emily Hutson. Thanks to their stellar performance, Alisa Caraballo and Taylor Williams finished on the all-tournament team.
