Chaotic Labour conference votes against committing to back Remain in new referendum until after general election
JEREMY Corbyn saw off a Remainer coup on plans to campaign to stay in the EU.
The Labour conference, amid explosive and chaotic scenes, voted against deciding now whether to back Leave or Remain in another referendum.
The position will not be finalised until after a general election.
And that sparked uproar with pro-EU delegates in the Brighton hall.
One seething MP branded it “absolute f**kwittage”.
Remainer members shouted at fellow delegates and demanded a card vote rather than just a show of hands.
The Corbynistas drowned them out with their anthem: “Oooh, Jeremy Corbyn.”
But shortly after the vote, Labour’s Brexit boss Keir Starmer said the party will end up backing Remain.
Furious Labour big beasts, desperate to keep Britain in Brussels, vowed to continue the war on Brexit.

Labour’s London Mayor Sadiq Khan said: “I do not believe this decision reflects the views of the overwhelming majority of members who want to stop Brexit.”
Labour is now committed to fighting an election on a vow to renegotiate the Brexit deal, put this to a vote and then decide whether to back Leave or Remain.
James Cleverly, Conservative Party chairman, said: “Labour proves once again all they offer is more indecision and more pointless delay.”
