Spurs eyeing up transfer swoop for Fiorentina star Riccardo Sottil after stuttering start to 2019/20
TOTTENHAM are reportedly continuing their policy of targeting Europe’s top young players by taking a trip to watch Riccardo Sottil.
The Fiorentina winger made his Italy Under-21 debut earlier this month having moved into the Tuscan side’s first-team.
According to Daily Express, Spurs scouts travelled to Italy to watch Sottil play against Atalanta on Sunday night.
However they would have left disappointed given the 20-year-old remained on the bench throughout the 2-2 draw.
After spending last season on loan at Serie B outfit Pescara, Sottil has appeared three times for Fiorentina in 2019/20.
Spurs predominantly focused on up and coming prospects during the summer window, spending around £100million.
Tanguy Ndombele, 22, was the chief marquee signing with Giovani Lo Celso and teenage wingers Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon, both of whom are yet to appear for Mauricio Pochettino.
Clarke, 18, was sent back to Leeds on loan for this campaign but has hardly played for the Championship leaders.

Meanwhile Sessegnon has struggled with a hamstring injury with no specified date of return.
