Conor McGregor and Dustin Poirier continue to test the waters for a potential rematch.
Conor McGregor continues to berate Dustin Poirier on social media, hinting that the Irishman may be interested in a rematch with the former UFC interim lightweight champion.
In his latest Tweet, McGregor mocked Poirier by posting a picture of his finishing sequence of the Louisianan at UFC 178, where ‘The Notorious’ dropped and finished his former featherweight rival in the first round.
Poirier who, following his submission loss to Khabib Nurmagomedov called for a rematch with McGregor, responded by demanding the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion to ‘run it back’.
Run it back tough guy!

“Run it back tough guy!” Poirier responded.
Both Poirier and McGregor understand the power of social media and are clearly using the platform to test the waters for a possible rematch. The two lightweight fighters also recently hinted of a return to the Octagon in December.

Dublin, December 14th.

“Dublin, December 14th,” McGregor posted on Sunday.
McGregor was teased to return to the cage earlier this year against streaking lightweight contender Justin Gaethje but the bout was reportedly scrapped due to McGregor sustaining a hand injury.
UFC tried to book McGregor vs. Gaethje earlier this summer. Both sides were into it, until McGregor broke his left hand.

That’s the fight to make. Early 2020.
Expect McGregor and Poirier to continue to go back-and-forth on social media over the next couple of weeks to gauge interest in a possible rematch.
