Indonesian promotional outfit Mahkota Promotion have been rather quiet recently, however they have now confirmed plans to have a notable card in Batu on November 17th featuring the biggest name in Indonesian boxing and one of their brightest hopes.
The card will be headlined by Daud Yordan (39-4-0-1, 27), who is scheduled to fight in a 12 round contest on the card against a yet to be named opponent.
Few details have been made public about Yordan's bout, but he is expected to face a notable international opponent as he looks to remain in the mix for a world title fight. This will be his second bout since losing to Anthony Crolla last November, and will see him look to build on an August victory over Patomsith Pathompothong.
The card will also feature the very promising Ongen Saknosiwi (7-0, 7), who will be looking to make his first defense of the WBC Asian Boxing Council Continental Featherweight title. The unbeaten 25 year old is seen by those at Mahkota as a future world champion, but they have decided not to rush him, and are instead looking to give him, around 2 years to mature and prepare for a world title bout.
At the moment his bout is yet to have an opponent announced for it, though quotes in the Indonesian press suggest it will be an international opponent of a more "severe" nature than he's faced so far. Fingers crossed Saknosiwi gets tested, and passes the test, as he really could be the next face of Indonesian boxing, with the right match making going forward.
More details of this show are expected to be announced in October, including opponents for both Yordan and Saknosiwi.
