Otto Wallin will need ‘uppercut from God’ to beat Tyson Fury tonight in Vegas

OTTO WALLIN is no pushover but he will need an uppercut from God to beat Tyson Fury on Saturday night.

The 6ft 6in Swede has been written off as another Las Vegas stooge for Fury to whoop, much like over-hyped June opponent Tom Schwarz, who failed to last two rounds.

But heavy-handed British cruiserweight Mikael Lawal spent two weeks going hammer and tongs with the 20-0 southpaw in 2017 and insists he has the tools to test the Gypsy King, although he will need divine intervention to pull off a seismic shock.

Ultimate Boxxer 4 champ, Lawal, told SunSport: “I went to Denmark when he was training there, we did two weeks work, three sessions a week, six rounds per-session, so around 36 rounds.

“He is skilful and should be able to ask Tyson a few questions, he does have power but I am not sure if it is enough to stop Tyson, as he’s a just different animal.

“Wallin has his moments when he tries to tear it up, I watched some of his fights and he has tried to take guys out.

“I would like to see Wallin target Tyson’s body but he will still need one of these punches from God to win.

“His left uppercut would probably be his honey shot, that will be the one to watch for. It is a slim chance but he could pull it off.”

Shepherds Bush star Lawal won £16,000 for winning the UB4 tournament in July but he’s careful with his hard-earned cash.

If SunSport handed him a free bet that had to be placed on the 14-1 outsider he would be clever with his money.

The 12-0 Stonebridge ABC ace said: “Otto is an undefeated fighter so he deserves a chance and if Tyson cannot make some of the other big fights then he needs to stay busy.

“Wallin is putting his life on the life every day in training and fights, like all fighters, so he has every right to feed himself and his family.

“But, if you gave me £100 that could only go on a Wallin win, I’d try £50 on the Otto upset and pocket the rest to be safe.”

Lawal has also sparred undisputed cruiserweight king and heavyweight newcomer Oleksandr Usyk.

But the West Londoner says there is no comparison between the two undefeated, European southpaws.

He said: “Otto moves more like a cruiserweight, I usually find heavyweights very easy to hit, because of their size, but he was more slick, he does have some skills

“But the thing with Usyk, that shocked me the most, was that he could be close enough to hit me but it was so hard to hit him back, he was never there.

“The footwork is crazy, it sounds far fetched but it feels like you are fighting a ghost.”
