Conor McGregor’s hopes of Khabib rematch dashed again as UFC champ’s father says he only wants two more fights
CONOR McGREGOR’S hopes of a rematch with Khabib Nurmagomedov have been dashed after the Russian fighter’s father claimed his son only wants two more fights before he retires.
The current UFC lightweight champ is currently 28 fights without losing and will target a perfect 30 undefeated before walking away from the Octagon, according to his dad.
And the news will disappoint McGregor who had hoped to line up against the Eagle once again to avenge his 2018 defeat.
Khabib defended his lightweight belt in devastating fashion against Dustin Poirier at UFC 242 last weekend.
And speaking after the fight, his dad Abdulmanap said his son knows when to stop and that he also wants his farewell bout to be in Moscow.
He said: “For Khabib, 30-0 is enough.
“Regarding his last fight, then of course, we would like his final title defence to be in Moscow.”
Despite Nurmagomedov Sr’s words, McGregor tweeted straight after Khabib’s fight in an attempt to get the rematch on.
He simply posted: “Book my rematch for Moscow.”
But to add to the bad news for the Notorious, team Khabib are not interested and instead want a mega-battle with Georges St-Pierre.
Commenting on the McGregor speculation and also calls from Tony Ferguson for a fight in December, Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz said: “Nobody really cares.

“Nobody gives a sh*t really.
“As far as I know, GSP is next. That is what I want. Tony doesn’t get what he wants.
“We get what Khabib wants, and if Khabib calls me and says he wants Georges St-Pierre, Georges St-Pierre will be next.”
