Man Utd team news vs Leicester: Wan-Bissaka fit for Old Trafford clash but no room for youngsters Greenwood and Gomes

AARON WAN-BISSAKA is fit enough to start for injury-hit Manchester United this afternoon against Leicester City.

The £50million summer signing had been doubtful for this match, having had to pull out of his first senior England squad with a hamstring problem.

The 21-year-old’s availability is a timely boost for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer – who has seen his preparations for this match heavily hampered by various injuries over the international break.

There is also a place in the starting XI for Nemanja Matic, who has played just 22 minutes this season, as well as Juan Mata and Andreas Pereira – even though the Norwegian had hinted that there could be a place for young stars like Tahith Chong and Mason Greenwood, who are both on the bench.

And some United fans are not happy about Chong and Greenwood’s omissions.

With the likes of Paul Pogba, Anthony Martial, Luke Shaw and Jesse Lingard missing with injury, Solskjaer had said earlier in the week: “It’s a good test, it’s a great test and a great challenge for our players who want to push on. A few players are out, so the others can step up.

“Here’s your chance. That’s the thing here. The young kids do get chances and when they take them, it can be life-changing.”

Brendan Rodgers has made two changes for unbeaten Leicester City’s trip to Old Trafford, with the more defensive-minded Hamza Choudhury coming in for Marc Albrighton – as well as Demarai Gray replacing Harvey Barnes for the Foxes.
