Adele ‘feels free’ after filing for divorce – as it’s revealed she’s ‘requested joint custody’ of son Angelo, 6
ADELE is said to be “feeling free” after filing for divorce from husband Simon Konecki in what could be one of the costliest showbiz splits ever.
The superstar singer, 31, announced in April she had separated from Simon, 45, who is dad to their only child Angelo, six.
She is reported to be seeking joint custody of the boy.
A source told The Mirror: “Adele feels free and is moving on with her life.
“It looks like the divorce will be straightforward at this stage. They both want what is best for their son.”
It is not yet known how the pair will split the Skyfall singer’s £150million fortune.
But Simon’s slice could well exceed the £39million given to Heather Mills by Sir Paul McCartney or the estimated £65million Guy Ritchie got from Madonna.
Adele, 31, who married charity entrepreneur Simon in 2016, filed documents asking for their marriage to be dissolved at a Los Angeles court on Thursday.
And in documents obtained by The Blast, she is also said to be willing to settle finances with Simon through mediation.
The publicity-shy couple started dating a year before welcoming their son in 2012.
Adele finally revealed they had got married in a speech at the 2017 Grammys.
Speaking after their separation five months ago, a representative for Adele said: “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy.”
It’s been rumoured recently that Tottenham-born Adele, below, is recording her fourth studio album.

Meanwhile Simon worked as an investment banker for Lehman Brothers until 2005.
He then founded the ethical water company Life Water which funds projects across the globe.
