Troy Parrott reveals exactly what training with Harry Kane has done for him
Troy Parrott admitted that training with Harry Kane has improved him as a player.
The 17-year-old striker, who marked his Republic of Ireland Under-21s debut by scoring the winner goal against Armenia Under-21s on Friday, became a part of Spurs’ senior side at the beginning of 2019, often training with Mauricio Pochettino’s side towards the back end of last season.
And after earning a place in the travelling party for Tottenham’s pre-season tour of the Far East, Parrott has become a regular with the first-team, although he is still waiting to make his Spurs debut having been the 19th man more than once this season.
In an interview with The 42, striker was asked what it’s like training with the England captain: “Obviously he’s a world-class striker, so it’s really good to be in and around them, doing finishing drills with them. You find yourself getting better and better every day.”
Parrott’s Tottenham bow could come in their Carabao Cup Third Round tie against Colchester United later this month. And the teenager said he will be ready if called upon.
“Again, I’m just in training doing what I can do to the best of my abilities, trying to keep improving and if the chance does come, I’ll be ready.”
