CRISTIANO RONALDO channelled his inner Mr Nice Guy by posing for photos with Nemanja Matic’s son and then handed the youngster his match shirt.
The two players went head to head on the field last night in their Euro 2020 qualifier.
European champions Portugal secured a 4-2 win in Belgrade to leapfrog Serbia in Group B.
Ronaldo, 34, scored what proved to be his winner – and his 89th international goal – with ten minutes left.
Slipped through by Bernardo Silva, the Juventus forward clipped the ball over the goalkeeper with a neat finish.
After the game, the former Manchester United star caught up with current Red Devils man Matic, who had his son Filip and his son’s friend with him in Belgrade.
Ronaldo ruffled their hair and then posed for photographs with the two lads, who were no doubt a little bit starstruck – the same could even be said for the United player, who desperately tried to capture the moment with a good photograph.
And it got even better for Filip, who got a souvenir to take home when Ronaldo gave his match-worn Portugal shirt, complete with grass stains.
Matic’s wife Aleksandra posted the photos of a memorable night – despite the defeat – on her Instagram and wrote: “So proud.”
And plenty of fans on Twitter praised Ronaldo for his generous gesture.
One said: “Ronaldo is the king off and on the pitch.”
Another wrote: “Just the GOAT doing some GOAT things.”
A third added: “But people say he’s arrogant Smh This guy inspires beyond imaginations.”
