Ron Howard and Scott Stuber Headline Speakers at Produced By: New York Conference 2019
Netflix’s head of film Scott Stuber will serve as the keynote speaker for the 2019 Produced By: New York conference and will be in conversation with director Ron Howard, co-founder and chairman of Imagine Entertainment, the Producers Guild of America announced Wednesday.
This year’s one-day conference, now in its sixth year, kicks off on Nov. 9 at Florence Gould Hall in New York City during the height of awards season, and for the first time it will also feature eight masterclasses that are meant to dive into the art and craft of some of the year’s biggest awards contenders. Talent for the masterclasses have yet to be announced.
Stuber will discuss with Howard what it’s like to build a new film studio, find global stories, discover new talent and be a key player in the ever-evolving ways in which entertainment is consumed by audiences around the world.

Speakers at last year’s conference included Gail Berman, Iain Canning, Caryn Capotosto, Bruce Cohen, Julie Cohen, Andrew Form, John Krasinski, Yorgos Lanthimos, Tony McNamara, Steve McQueen, Morgsan Neville, Mimi Valdés and Betsy West.
The official conference sponsors to date include Delta Air Lines, General Motors, Branded Entertainment Network (BEN), Endcrawl, GreenSlate, Honolulu Film Office and Produce Iowa.
The chairs for the 2019 Produced By: New York Conference include: Bruce Cohen, Lisa Cortés, Donna Gigliotti and Mimi Valdés, all of whom all are working closely with PGA East chairs William Horberg and Kay Rothman. The team also includes supervising producer Liz Hart, sponsorship director Diane Salerno (Six Degrees Global) and marketing consultant Julie Giles (greenHAT digital).
Early bird pricing for PGA members through Oct. 1 starts at $125, with the price rising to $150 on Oct. 2 through Nov. 2. Non-members can also purchase tickets for $200 for early bird and $225 afterwards.
