COLEEN Rooney is so desperate for her fifth baby to be a girl that she has looked into controversial “gender selection” treatment.
The 33-year-old, who has four sons with husband Wayne, flew to Mexico earlier this year to discuss the £8,000 procedure, which is unavailble in the UK.
She told pals she wanted to hear more about the process, in which doctors examine embryos in a lab before implanting only those of the desired gender back into the womb.
A source said: “Coleen loves her boys more than anything, but she’s never been shy about admitting she would also love a daughter.
“That would really complete the set for her and Wayne.
“But she has also said that if she does have another boy they would be happy.”
The news emerged after The Sun revealed Wayne, 33, was moving back to the UK from America as a player-coach at Derby.
This week we also told how Wayne was seeking treatment to help him quit booze for good.
The ex-England and Manchester United ace joined Washington’s DC United last year but his personal life was in danger of spiralling out of control.

GENDER selection is illegal in the UK unless it’s to prevent a serious genetic condition.
Eggs are collected from the woman, then fertilised in a dish at the clinic using the father’s sperm.
Usually just one or two are implanted. Any excess embryos can be frozen for future use.
