‘Big Oaf’ and coach driver in confrontation as they both refuse to give way

A motorist launched a foul-mouthed rant against a coach driver after he was unable to pass him on a narrow road.

The abuse was so comical the unnamed rotund man has now been likened to legend Ronnie Pickering, whose own road dispute made him a household name for a brief period.

The motorist, who had a number plate that said ‘Big Oaf’ and was in his 50s, called the coach driver ‘f**king scum’ and ‘d**k head’ following a disagreement in Warrington, Cheshire.

Both men had refused to give way and allow the other to pass on Penny Lane, in Burtonwood, at around 3pm on Saturday.

That led to the comical encounter that was recorded by a fellow road-user, who got his camera out after waiting for the pair to resolve the issue for ten minutes.

The larger man, who said he was a businessman, was seen waddling over to the LMTravel coach.

He then bragged about his ‘£40,000’ VW Arteon and told the driver to get a proper like him after he had sworn at him a few times.

Five cars could be seen queuing behind the coach while the two drivers continued to argue, oblivious of everyone else.

The man who took the video could be heard pleading with the motorists to bring the ordeal to an end, adding he had children in his car.

The standoff eventually came to an end after 15 minutes when the coach driver backed up and made way for the furious Volkswagen driver.

For some reason, the large man was wearing a ‘Fast and Fuhrerious’ t-shirt, which is a reference to Adolf Hitler, who was Fuhrer of Germany.

If you were wondering who was in the right the Highway Code states priority should be given to buses, coaches and trams when it is safe to do so.

But this is not a legal requirement so disputes are always going  to spring up.
