Virender Sehwag tries to grab eyeballs with ‘promotional’ selector tweet
Virender Sehwag, known to be a social star sensation for his witty one-liners, tried to grab the attention of his fans, when he revealed that he would like to become a selector. However, little did fans know that his tweet on Monday to his massive fan base, was a comment as a promotional strategy to ‘The Selector’ app.
“Mujhe Selector banna hai… Kaun mujhe mauka dega? #theselector.” (I want to become a selector…. Who will give me a chance?)” Sehwag wrote on his Twitter handle.

The former India opener, who retired from international cricket in October 2015, has been keeping people entertained and smiling with his witty and sarcastic tweets.
Sehwag has been hogging the limelight of late for his crafty tweets that more often than not ridicule certain events or personalities, including himself. On the same day today, he recalled an incident which took place on August 12 in 2011.
During India’s tour of England in 2011, the visitors were whitewashed 0-4 in the Test series and in the third Test match in Birmingham, Sehwag, who did not play the first two matches, was dismissed for a duck in both the innings.

Recalling the incident, Sehwag tweeted: “On this day 8 years ago, I scored a king pair vs England in Birmingham after flying for 2 days to reach England and fielding 188 overs. Unwillingly paid tribute to Aryabhatta. If there was zero chance of failure, what would you do? If you have it figured, do that (sic).
Truly, Sehwag was an entertainer, both on and off the field!
