Alisson facing up to eight weeks out after Liverpool keeper suffers calf injury and ‘leaves Anfield in a wheelchair’ in win over Norwich
LIVERPOOL could be without Alisson Becker for up to eight weeks after the goalkeeper injured his calf last night – reportedly leaving Anfield in a wheelchair.
Daily Mail have noted initial fears he has torn his calf.
According to reports in his native Brazil, Liverpool physios had to take drastic measures to ensure Alisson put no pressure whatsoever on the damaged leg after the victory over Norwich.
That meant him leaving the stadium on a wheelchair, say ESPN.
Reds boss Jurgen Klopp stressed against making a hasty diagnosis with Alisson due for scans on the injury.
However the 26-year-old won’t feature in Wednesday’s UEFA Super Cup clash with Chelsea.
Speaking after the goalkeeper hit the deck as he took a goal kick, Klopp said: “He felt as if something hit him from the back.
“He will not be ready for Wednesday.
“He couldn’t carry on. That is not a good sign.
“A tear? Maybe, but you cannot say that without the scan. We will find a solution and move on.”

Alisson, who signed for Liverpool last summer and won the 2018/19 Premier League Golden Glove, thanked fans for supportive messages late last night.
He tweeted: “Thank you for all the messages! Will be back as soon as possible and stronger!”
