I bought a used Roubaix last week and after a week of riding I cleaned it today. I saw a few small spots on the frame that I thought was road grime and when it did not scrub off, I scraped it a little bit with my finger nail. Something like a plastic film, almost like scotch tape, started to come up/off and I stopped. I looked online and read something about a clear coat that might be on a carbon fiber frame. It said I could repair it with nail polish.
Does this look like such a clear coat?
Is it something worse, like a delamination of the carbon fiber?
How do I repair it?
