Wilmslow Mens 1s carried the day after a hard fought match against Neston in the 2019 Cheshire Plate final played at Brooklands HC. This was after they had overcome Triton earlier in the day to reach the final. The match against Neston was evenly balanced with chances at both ends, leading up to a tight finish when Neston went 3-2 ahead with less than 10 minutes to go.
Wilmslow were awared a short corner with less than 2 minutes on the clock and equalised after a well-worked switch move to leave it 3-3 at the fimal whistle. After 5 penalties each, honours were still even - Neston missed the next penalty, leaving Wilmslow to score their flick to win the match and the Plate. Great team effort and congratulations to Ben James for taking the Man of the Match award as well.
Special thanks to Louise Broome for umpiring the match against Triton and also standing in the Neston v Lymm match as well.
