President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani has issued a decree appointing Ghezal Haris as the Inspector General of the Government.
The Office of the President, ARG Palace said in a statement that the President Ghani has issued a decree for the establishment of the Inspector General’s Office.
The statement further added that Ms. Ghezal Haris has been appointed as the Inspector General of the Government.
Furthermore, the decree states that the Office of the Inspector General has been established to effectively fight corruption and overview the activities of the high-level government officials by reviewing the complaints.
President Ghani issued the order for the establishment of the Office of Inspector General amid reports of corruption in high level government institutions, including ARG Palace.
Recently, several reports also emerged which suggest that the top government officials in Presidential Palace and other governmental institutions are involved in sexual misconduct.
