American Express Acquires Resy, Plans Perks For Card Members
American Express has completed its acquisition of Resy, a restaurant booking service, and will offer a number of perks to card members, according to a news release.
The credit card company said it wants to expand what Resy already does and develop products that will provide new experiences for customers.
There are a number of upcoming events which begin in August for card members. On Aug. 15, customers will be able to get Membership Rewards points when they book through Resy and visit the restaurant by the end of the following month. Customers can get 500 points per booking, up to three times.
One perk is the Off Menu Week promotion in New York City, which will give card members early access for 72 hours to special restaurants.
“American Express has always been a powerhouse in the dining space and we know American Express Card Members are passionate about great food. So, we are excited to begin providing them with elevated perks and access on Resy’s platform too,” said Resy Co-Founder and CEO Ben Leventhal.
Card members also get 48 hours of early access to tickets for an upcoming event series called Resy Presents Secret Special with Danny Bowien and Friends and The Women of Food, London.

To take advantage of the Membership Rewards points when using Resy, card members need to first find and book a reservation on Resy.com, or do so on the Resy app. Then, they need to add a Membership Rewards enrolled American Express Card to the Resy wallet before they go and dine at the restaurant.
