Video shows 20 people trying to rescue victim in crashed car
Three people were cut from a car after it slammed into a tree in a center median causing a traffic backup in Newport Beach on Wednesday morning.
Firefighters found the vehicle lodged in the median at East Coast Highway and Narcissus Avenue after the 8:22 a.m. crash, Newport Beach Fire Department spokesman Kevin Tiscareno said.
The driver and passengers were trapped inside, Tiscareno said, adding that firefighters had to stabilize the vehicle.
Video recorded by a bystander at the scene showed several good Samaritans pushing the tipping vehicle back onto its wheels.
The three were reportedly taken to trauma centers to be treated for injuries. Details about what led to the crash were not immediately available.
