Bodycam shows cops laugh and joke as man dies screaming ‘you’re going kill me’ while being arrested
DISTURBIG bodycam footage shows cops laughing and joking as they pin a man down before he loses consciousness and dies.
Tony Timpa can he heard screaming “you’re going to kill me” several times as a police officer uses his knee to pin him down for more than 13 minutes.
As the 32-year-old becomes unresponsive, officers then start to make jokes about him being “out cold” and falling asleep.
One of the cops says “It’s time for school, wake up!” while another chimes in “I don’t want to go to school! Five more minutes, mom!”.
Paramedics then arrive and his body is transferred to a stretcher as the cops continue to joke and laugh.
The paramedics then tell officers that Mr Timpa is not breathing and the cops become concerned.
“He didn’t just die on me did he? I hope I didn’t kill him,” one can be heard saying.
The incident happened August of 2016 in Dallas after Mr Timpa called 911, saying he suffered from schizophrenia and he was off his medication.
An autopsy ruled Timpa’s cause of death was homicide, reports the Dallas Morning News, which obtained the footage.
He had a sudden cardiac arrest due to the “toxic effects of cocaine and stress associated with physical restraint”.
Three officers, Kevin Mansell, Danny Vasquez and Dustin Dillard, were indicted by a grand jury in 2017 on charges of misdemeanor deadly conduct.
‘RECKLESS’
The grand jury’s indictment stated that the “officers engaged in reckless conduct that placed Timpa in imminent danger of serious bodily injury.”
In March, Dallas County District Attorney John Creuzot dismissed the charges.
A federal lawsuit has since been filed accusing the officers of excessive force, claiming the officers “recklessly” and “knowingly” killed Timpa.
Timpa’s mother, Vicki Timpa, told CBS: “He was expecting someone to help him, that’s why he called. He wasn’t expecting several police to kill him.”

Geoff Henley, the lawyer representing the family said officers should not have restrained him for that long adding: “Tony Timpa shouldn’t have died that night.”
Dallas Police Association president Michael Mata, however, denied that officers were responsible for Mr Timpa’s death.
“My heart goes out to his mother. I would hate to lose a child but what killed that man was 20 years of drug abuse,” he said.
