Man Utd and Arsenal predicted to miss top four in final Premier League table by BT Sport supercomputer
ARSENAL and Manchester United are set for another season of Champions League heartache, according to BT Sport’s supercomputer.
Both former giants are set to miss out on the top four, with Manchester City crowned champions once again.
BT Sport have released their “The Script of the Season” and just one of their data-driven simulations surrounds the Premier League standings.
In 2019-20, 37 points could be enough to avoid relegation – and it’s bad news for Newcastle, Norwich and Sheffield United, tipped for relegation.
Speaking on their “script”, BT Sport claimed: “The twists, the turns, the ecstasy and the agony. You can’t script football. Or can you?
“By May 2020, another season will be over. Premier League positions will be finalised, Champions League winners decided, Europa League places secured and relegations regrettably confirmed.

“We’ve commissioned some of the biggest brains in sports data, analytics and machine learning. Writing the AI-driven script of the season before a single ball’s been kicked.”
While Liverpool are tipped to finish second – again – Mohamed Salah is going to win the Golden Boot award for a record third-straight year with 29 goals, five ahead of Harry Kane, says the computer.
Man City are expected to equal English football’s all-time record for league titles won in a row.
Only Arsenal, Huddersfield, Liverpool and Man Utd have ever won three straight league crowns.

Meanwhile, Jurgen Klopp’s Reds could become only the second team in history to go three straight Premier League seasons unbeaten at home, if the supercomputer is right.
Man Utd are set to break a record of their own – but for all the wrong reasons – as they’re expected to lose a club Premier League record 12 matches in 2019-20.
And Norwich are predicted to become the first team in history to be relegated from the Premier League on five separate occasions.
Ahead of the new season, BT has commissioned some of the leading names in football data and analysis (Opta, Google & Squawka) to script the 19/20 season including Premier League winners, UEFA Champions League winners, the top goal scorers, relegation candidates and other notable storylines, before a ball’s even been kicked.
