UFC vet Sabah Homasi makes Bellator return vs. Micah Terrill at Bellator 225
UFC veteran Sabah Homasi will finally make the walk for Bellator.
After announcing his signing with the promotion earlier this year, he is set to take on Micah Terrill in a welterweight bout at Bellator 225, set to take place in Bridgeport, Conn. on Aug. 24.
A person with knowledge of the situation informed MMA Junkie, but requested anonymity as the promotion has yet to make an official announcement.
After dropping three straight in the UFC, American Top Team’s Homasi (12-8 MMA, 1-2 BMMA) bounced back with a unanimous decision win over Muhammad Abdullah at WXC 74: Allegiance. Homasi has already competed three times under the Bellator banner, as he looks to make his return to the promotion next month.
Terrill (14-7 MMA), who has fought across various promotions such as CFFC, LFA and most recently Shogun Fights, will be making his Bellator debut when he takes on Homasi. Terrill is coming off a no-contest earlier in the month, in a welterweight championship fight vs. Jerome Featherstone at Shogun Fights 22. An accidental eye gouge by Featherstone, caused the doctor to intervene and stop the fight. Terrill was unable to continue and the fight was ruled a no contest.
Previously announcing that he will rematch Featherstone in November for Shogun Fights, it appears that there has been a change of plans, as Terrill will make a turnaround in less than one month, when he steps into the Bellator cage and takes on Homasi, on Aug. 24.
