UFC 240 featured a string of impressive performance.
The event in Edmonton saw UFC featherweight champion Max Holloway add, well, another feather to his cap, as he earned a decisive five-round victory over well-regarded former UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar.
Cris Cyborg answered the skeptics in her first fight since getting knocked out by Amanda Nunes, as the former UFC, Strikeforce, and Invicta FC featherweight champ earned a one-sided victory over Felicia Spencer.
And Geoff Neal made a statement in the welterweight division with an impressive second-round finish of Niko Price.
So where do things go from here? Well, not too far. Holloway’s win was impressive, but not demonstrative enough for him to bump anyone ahead of him on the pound-for-pound list. Cyborg isn’t going to pass Nunes on the women’s featherweight list, and where are you going to drop Spencer to, exactly? Neal, for his part, debuts in the honorable mention section at welterweight.
For that and all of this week’s rankings, take a gander at the list above.
