WE each spend an average of 50 days a year online.
As well as keeping up with your mates and sharing snaps, the web is great for nabbing hot items at bargain prices.
Here is a our guide on how to browse for a bargain.
Search and save: Found an outfit you love at a price you do not? Many trendy items find their way to resale sites, Facebook Marketplace and even Instagram — sometimes after a single wear or, perhaps, not at all.
For fashion and beauty, try the re-selling app Depop. Some brands even have their own sample stores.
For example, I managed to nab a NFD dress from this season for just £60, way down on the current retail price of £89.
Insta-shops: Many smaller retailers and services have taken to Instagram to help shift their wares. You can often find deals under the hashtag #ForSale and discover Instagram-based boutiques on the app.
If you prefer the big-name brands, it pays to follow your favourites. Many offer discount codes and exclusive deals for loyal followers.
Worth the wait? If you are not in a rush for your order, you can find fashionable accessories for a snip on Chinese-based app AliExpress.
Items sold in bulk to retailers here are sometimes available individually without the big mark-up you get of the High Street.
I landed an on-trend embellished headband for just £10.99, while identical items are selling for up to £40 at High Street boutiques and Instagram stores.
But remember, you may have to wait as much as a month for items to arrive. So do not order anything you need urgently.
Book it in: Facebook Marketplace is fast becoming the social media selling point of choice for busy mums who already enjoy using the Facebook app.
The listings are chock-full of baby items, toys and even furniture for far less than their retail value.
I recently found an Ikea corner sofa with plenty of life left for just £150. Some users will swap stuff or even give old items away.
