T-Mobile postpones earnings call again after notching profit beat, revenue miss
T-Mobile US Inc. shares dropped 0.6% in after-hours trading Thursday after the company reported a mixed quarter and opted to postpone its earnings call yet again. The company said it would be moving its Thursday afternoon earnings call to an unspecified future time. Back on Tuesday, the company had announced that it was moving its call to the afternoon from the morning. T-Mobile posted net income of $939 million, or $1.09 a share, compared with $782 million, or 92 cents a share, in the year-earlier period. The FactSet consensus called for 97 cents in earnings per share. The company reported total revenue of $11 billion, up from $10.6 billion a year earlier, as well as services revenue of $8.4 billion, up from $7.9 billion a year prior. Analysts surveyed by FactSet had been modeling $11.1 billion in total revenue, including $8.4 billion in service revenue. T-Mobile added 1.8 million new subscribers and 1.1 million branded post-paid subscribers in the period. Reports have indicated the T-Mobile's deal for Sprint Corp. is nearing approval from federal regulators, with Dish Network Corp. set to step in and purchase assets from the merging companies. T-Mobile shares have risen 26% so far this year, while the S&P 500 has climbed 20%.
