RB Leipzig have completed the signing of teenager Ethan Ampadu on a season-long loan from English Premier League giants Chelsea.
The 18-year-old has been handed the number 26 shirt by Die Roten Bullen.
Ampadu is a holding midfielder who has made the bench for West London club several times but only has one Premier League appearance to his name.
The teenager came through the youth ranks at Exeter City before he moved to Chelsea in 2017. This will be his first season out on loan.
Ethan Ampadu already has eight caps for the senior Wales national team having previously represented the England Under-16s once; his country of birth.
Ampadu becomes the fourth signing for RB Leipzig this summer, following the arrivals of Luan Candido (Palmeiras), Hannes Wolf (RB Salzburg) and Christopher Nkunku (Paris Saint-Germain).
RB Leipzig qualified for the upcoming season’s UEFA Champions League giving Ampadu an opportunity to make his debut in Europe’s elite club competition for the first time. Chelsea will be playing in the Europa League.
