Midfielder Jordy Clasie has completed a permanent move to AZ Alkmaar from Southampton.
The 28-year-old Dutchman joined Saints during 2015 but went out on loan to Club Brugge and then spent last season at former club Feyenoord and inferred there “trust” missing on the south coast.
Clasie is hoping a full-time move back to Holland can help kick-start his career.
“AZ is a club which trusts me. That is something that I really appreciate,” he said on the AZ Alkmaar website.
“I want to reach my old level again at AZ. I am currently fit but I do not yet have match rhythm.

“We are going to make a good plan so that I can get there as quickly as possible.”
Southampton said in a club statement: “Everyone at Southampton would like to thank Jordy for his efforts, and we wish him well for the future.”
