Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik Monday said his government was keen to promote Table Tennis in the state.
"The state government, among other sports, is keen to promote TT in the state," Patnaik said while addressing participants of the 21 Commonwealth Table Tennis Championship which ended in Cuttack this evening.
He said: "To start with, we will provide tables and equipments for table tennis to 200 locations."
The regular coaching programmes with accredited table tennis coaches will be started at important district level centres to tap the potential of young TT players, the chief minister said.
Patnaik congratulated the participants and said: "I appreciate the spirit of young boys and girls from the different countries who have come all the way to participate in this event. Your performances have been truly world-class and I appreciate each and every one of the participating countries."
