Shocking moment bungee jumper breaks his spine after rope SNAPS on 100m jump

THIS is the shocking moment a man slammed into the ground and snapped his spine after his bungee cord snapped.

The daredevil was attempting the stunt in a park in Gdynia, Poland when the horrifying accident struck.

He was jumping from 100 metres having been raised into the heavens on a platform hoisted by a crane.

Once he reaches the required height he psychs himself up before launching himself off the platform.

The jumper, believed to be a 39-year-old local, can be seen falling through the air with all seeming well.

But when the cord begins to pull tight the rope snaps off the straps attached to his ankles and he free falls at full speed, trojmiasto.pl reports.

Fortunately there was a large air cushion underneath where he was jumping, which he initially landed on but then bounced off.

Paramedics and bystanders rushed to his aid and he was whisked off to hospital.

On arrival he was diagnosed as having a snapped vertebrae and other injuries to multiple internal organs.

Fortunately though the spine itself broke, the spinal cord was not damaged so he can still move.

Local police are at the scene and interviewing witnesses and employees of the company organising the event.
