Heartbreaking moment dying kitten drags itself back to owner after being shot by animal abuser
Heart-rending surveillance camera footage shows a dying kitten trying to drag himself to safety after being blasted with an air rifle.
The stricken kitty was filmed pulling itself across the patio of Tammy Cornelius Hausman’s porch in Tampa, Florida, after being fatally wounded.
Distressingly, the three month-old animal’s spine was severed by the gunshot, leaving him unable to use his back legs.
Cornelius Hausman said: ‘It’s heartbreaking to watch the videos…
‘It was just very emotional to watch a baby kitten of three months old drag his legs across the porch to get some food.’
The animal lover rushed him to her local veterinarian after discovering him, but was told the kitten was too grievously injured to be saved.
He was euthanized shortly afterwards.

Cornelius Hausman says that kitten survived, and is recovering at the vets, but may end of losing one of his legs.
She explained: ‘That cat was in a lot of pain. They think they were able to save the leg, but we’re not sure yet.’
Cornelius Hausman has long cared for stray cats in her neighborhood.
She feeds them, has them neutered, then tries to get them adopted.
The vicious attack has left Cornelius Hausman frightened that the same abuser will strike again.
She has shared the clip of the dying kitten’s final moments in the hopes of warning other neighbors of a potential animal abuser.
The animal lover is also offering a reward for information, with police set to investigate.
Cornelius Hausman added: ‘When an innocent animal gets hurt for no reason at all, it’s very heartbreaking there’s no words for it.
