Grandma, 90, sent gay granddaughter booklet on STIs and sympathy card when she married wife
A bigoted grandmother sent her own granddaughter a pamphlet on sexually transmitted infections and a sympathy card as a twisted wedding gift.
The 90 year-old sent the hateful presents to the same sex-wedding after being invited to the ceremony. She also refused to attend.
Her appalling behavior was outlined by another grandchild in a letter to agony aunt Amy Dickerson.
The letter explained: ‘When my sister (who is gay) got married a few years ago, my grandmother was invited and chose not to attend.
‘Instead, she sent my sister and her new wife a pamphlet on sexually transmitted diseases enclosed in a sympathy card. At that point, I was fully done with her, as was my sister.’

She has sent a note begging for money to her children and grandchildren – including the gay granddaughter who she snubbed so appallingly.
The anonymous letter writer asked Dickerson for advice on how to handle the issue – and was given a concise response.
Dickerson suggested she and her siblings ‘lay out with complete honestly how reprehensible her behavior has been over the years’ before deciding whether to donate.
Alternatively, she suggested a simple note saying ‘I’m genuinely sorry…unfortunately I cannot be part of your solution.
‘I hope you find peace during this part of your life.’
