I put a post on here not too long ago about how we shouldn’t view ourselves as doomed yet but I have just seen a poster say that he believes that our current squad would potentially be relegated to League Two, never mind League One.
Our squad is one of the worst in terms of depth and we do need a couple news signings but quality wise, most parts of our squad are championship worthy.
Stockdale - Championship
Camp - Low Champ / League 1
Trueman - Unproven (below Champ)
Dean - Easily Championship
Roberts - Low Championship
Harding - Low Championship (Will Develop)
Pedersen - Easily Championship
Grounds - League 1
Keita - Unproven
Seddon- League 1 (Potentially Champ)
Colin - High Championship (Some believe Prem)
Cogley - Unsure (below Champ)
G.Gardner - Easily Championship
C.Gardner - Can manage Champ in shorter appearances
Kieftenbeld- Low Championship
Davis - League 1
Lakin- Unproven (below Champ)
Bailey - Unproven
Bellingham - Unproven
Mrabti - Championship
Maghoma - Championship
Juke - Championship
Vassell - League 1
To conclude, based on that relegation still seems likely but it isn’t horrific and it is insulting to the players to say that our squad is the worst in the league when you have the likes of Luton with us. A couple additions and we could survive.
Yeah but you're assuming the manager sets up in a formation that uses these players to their strengths. Like Rowett did with what he had and like Monk did.
Now we're playing dongball, I fear the posession game - to be successful - may require these players to do things they're not comfortable with on the ball, which means an otherwise comfortable 6/10 championship midfielder might look more like a 3/10.
