Prince Louis gets signed Stan Smith trainers as Kate watches men’s Wimbledon final

Prince Louis might not be old enough to pick up a racket just yet but he’s already got a tennis fan in former world champion Stan Smith.

The tennis legend and 1972 Wimbledon champion brought a gift for the young royal in the form of a pair of tennis shoes named after himself.

He even signed the tiny Adidas Stan Smiths – which still looked to be a little big for Louis, one.

Smith had a twinkle in his eye as he handed over the signed shoe to the Duchess of Cambridge as she took her seat in the royal box alongside Prince William.

Kate was also given a blue Adidas box, which presumably contained the other matching trainer.

Kate is paying her third visit to Wimbledon 2019 today to watch Roger Federer and Novak Djokovic battle it out to be crowned champion.

Federer will be hoping to secure a record extending ninth Wimbledon title.

While Djokovic hopes to hold on as reigning champ.

Louis might be a bit young to get into tennis but he may well follow in his old brother’s footsteps.

Prince George, five, is already an established fan of the sport.

Earlier this month, it was revealed Federer had given him a private tennis lesson at the home of Kate’s parents in Bucklebury, Berkshire.

Federer revealed the schoolboy had some talent in the sport and said he had ‘good tennis technique’.

Speaking about George after his second round victory over Britain’s Jay Clarke at Wimbledon, Federer said: ‘At that stage it’s all about just touch the ball, it’s already good.

‘Same with my boys.

‘I think I have a little advantage that I actually spent some time, you know, with him.’
