Karen Matthews ‘signs on’ at the Job Centre after leaving job as carer for ‘getting too close to OAP client’s husband’
KAREN Matthews has been spotted signing on at the Job Centre after leaving her job as a carer.
Vile Matthews, who was jailed for plotting to kidnap her own daughter Shannon in 2008 for the reward money, had reportedly been forced to leave her carer job after being accused of getting too close to her OAP client.
And photos today showed Britain’s worst mum outside job centre in the south of England.
The 43-year-old had scored her carer job after meeting an elderly couple at church who took pity on her following her release from prison.
They were in need of extra care after the wife was left to frail to look after herself following a hospital stay.
But just weeks after she took the job, it’s claimed Matthews left amid rumours about her behaviour towards the couple.
The pensioner wife, 65, is said to have fallen out with mum-of-seven Matthews over fears she was getting to close to her 70-year-old husband.
He insists they had an innocent friendship – but confirmed that Matthews no longer works for him and his wife, the Mirror said.
It comes just a year after Matthews’ sugar daddy Eric Anderson, 72, admitted admitted showering Matthews with money and gifts and “teaching her about love”.
A source close to the pensioner couple said: “They paid her to come round every day to help care for the woman and do the housework.
“At first, things were great and they were glad of the help in the house but soon things became tense.”
Matthews, whose seven kids are by five dads, was branded Britain’s worst mum after she was jailed for her role in daughter Shannon’s kidnap.
Shannon, then nine, was drugged and hidden under a bed in Dewsbury, West Yorks in 2008.
Matthews and her boyfriend’s uncle Michael Donovan plotted the kidnap and planned to share prize money after generating publicity from the tragedy.
Shannon was found by police after 24 days and Matthews served four years in jail – half her eight-year sentence.
