NORTH COAST — There were no tire marks on Highway 1 north of Scott Creek, where a 22-year-old San Ramon woman — who had been reported missing — died Saturday after her vehicle careened from a steep cliff.
Authorities found Ellen Mello’s body near the crashed vehicle.
Pleasanton police filed a missing-person report for Mello on June 24, California Highway Patrol officer Julieta Trenado said.
The death is being ruled as intentional.
Sgt. Dee Baldwin, of the coroner’s office, said the cause and manner of death are being investigated.
