The Rams have excused their boss as talks over Lampard's return to Chelsea enter the final stretch.
The Daily Mail says the 41-year-old was prepared to take Monday's session, as well as Tuesday's, but the club have now decided it is in everyone's best interests for their manager to continue talks with the Blues.
Rams officials, understandably, are of the view that Lampard starting pre-season with the club before becoming Chelsea boss could be disruptive to the players.
Lampard accepts this and the decision to excuse the former England star from training for the next 48 hours is viewed as mutual.
