Breaking: Kevin Durant reportedly will join the Nets
The superstar is headed to Brooklyn.
Kevin Durant is joining the Brooklyn Nets. The superstar free agent is set to sign a maximum contract with Brooklyn, as soon as free agency officially begins.
Kevin Durant is planning to sign with the Brooklyn Nets, league sources tell ESPN.

Durant will team up with fellow star and close friend Kyrie Irving, who is leaving the Boston Celtics to head to Brooklyn. Their mutual friend DeAndre Jordan is also reportedly joining them.

Durant is unlikely to play in the upcoming season due to the torn Achilles that he suffered during the 2019 NBA Finals. But in 2020-21, Brooklyn can potentially trot out a team built around Durant, Irving, Jordan, Caris LeVert, Spencer Dinwiddie, and Jarrett Allen.
The decision is a big blow to the Golden State Warriors, who were hoping to re-sign Durant after a very successful three-year run in which the team won two titles, and Durant won two Finals MVP awards.
Yet despite the bad news, the Warriors can now settle into their future, as a lot hung on KD’s decisions. With Durant officially gone, the uncertainty surrounding the Warriors is gone.
Also striking out were the New York Knicks and Los Angeles Clippers, the other teams Durant was reportedly interested in joining.
Durant’s team is expected to share details of the signing when free agency officially begins.
