Love Island star Tommy Fury’s cousin Hughie to fight ex-world champ Samuel Peter on 12 July in Saudi Arabia
HUGHIE FURY is set to fight former WBC heavyweight world champion Samuel Peter on July 12 in Saudi Arabia.
Tyson Fury’s 24-year-old cousin will take on the veteran as the main support to Amir Khan’s fight against Neeraj Goyat in Jeddah on Channel 5.
The Brit ace said: “‘I’ve got a job to do and it’ll get done. Samuel Peter is a seriously solid, dangerous veteran who can clearly punch but I relish the challenge.
“It’s always great to visit different places and get my name around the World. I’m expecting a great atmosphere.
“There’s only one thing on my mind, getting to the very top, winning the world title.”
Nigeria-born Peter, 38, won the green and belt in March 2008, with a win over Olag Maskaev.
But Vitali Klitschko, whose brother Wladimir had beaten Peter in 2005, dethroned him just six months later.
Fury lost his shot at Joseph Parker’s WBO world title 2017 but picked up the British title in his following fight.
The Traveller, trained by father Peter in Bolton, dropped the Lonsdale belt to focus on a world title.
A KO win over Chris Norrad in May helped Fury get over his bloody October 2018 loss to Kubrat Pulev.
And the silky-skilled 6ft 6in mover insisted he was getting closer to being the complete fighter.
He said: “I felt a lot stronger and a lot fitter and I’m ready now to fight anyone.
“All the experience I’ve had including the losses is all experience, I’m young and making me the final article for the future.”
Hughie’s other cousin and fellow boxer Tommy Fury, younger brother of Tyson, is currently starring in hit reality TV series Love Island and therefore cut off from the world.

And the 20-year-old was shocked this weekend to discover Anthony Joshua had lost his world titles to Andy Ruiz in the huge Madison Square Garden upset on June 1.
But a new housemate in the house broke the news to the lightweight prospect, and he could barely hide his surprise.
Stunned Fury said: “Did he lose?! F** off! F*** off,’ Tommy replied. ‘No! Oh my God, I don’t believe it.”
His co-star replied: “I just assumed you guys would’ve seen it.”
