[Baseball] Two Named to ABCA-Rawlings-NAIA Gold Glove Team
KANSAS CITY, Mo. - (NAIA Release) - The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) in conjunction with the American Baseball Coaches Association has announced the 2019 ABCA-Rawlings-NAIA Baseball Gold Glove Team with two players from the WHAC listed. The nine award winners, who were chosen based upon their defensive success, were selected by the NAIA Baseball Coaches Association All-America Committee.
Jay Denman became the first player from Lourdes to earn the honor. The junior leftfielder was flawless in 57 chances as he recorded 57 putouts and six assists. Aaron Krupansky picked up Cornerstone's second-ever honor as the shortstop ended the season with a .972 fielding percentage. The senior also turned 16 double plays.
It's the third straight year two players from the Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference (WHAC) have been named. Since the first year of the award in 2007, the WHAC has had 11 players honored.
